Police reach tentative contract agreement; investigator hired in fire chief case

Peace Officers Union reaches tentative agreement on contract with city; investigator looking into fire chief's suspension

The Hollister Peace Officers' Association has reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the city, City Attorney Brad Sullivan reported after a closed session of the City Council on Monday. The matter is expected to come before the council for disucssion at an upcoming meeting.

In another public safety agency matter, Sullivan reported that an investigator has been hired "and is presently conducting an investigation" related to the suspension of Hollister Fire Chief Michael O'Connor, who was recently placed on administrative leave by City Manager William Avera.
