Hollister Police are seeking the community's help following the report of a Hollister home shot at by unknown suspects who fled in a vehicle.
On Wednesday, Feb. 23, at approximately 10:30 p.m. police officers responded to the 1500 block of Farragot Drive on a report of a shooting. In a press release, the HPD said officers arrived and found several spent casings and discovered the home and a couple cars had been shot.
"There were several people in the home at the time of the shooting, including two children," the statement said. "Luckily, no one in the home was injured."
Witnesses told police a that grey sedan was seen in the area several times before returning and shooting at the house. The suspect or suspects allegedly fled the scene right after the shooting.
The Hollister Police Department has contacted several possible witnesses and is trying to obtain any home surveillance video to assist in identifying the suspect or suspects in this case.
"The initial investigation did not reveal any gang ties or obvious reason for the shooting into this home," the HPD release said. "It is possible the shooter attacked the wrong house or was retaliating against someone who no longer lives in this house."
Anyone with information about the suspect's identity is asked to call Officer Pompa at the Hollister Police Department at 636-4330. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the WeTip hotline at 800-87-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may qualify for a reward.
