Officers ask for assistance from possible witnesses.

Information provided by the Hollister Police Department.

The Hollister Police Department is seeking more information on a recent shooting on McCray Street.

On Nov. 18, police officers investigated a shooting of a man on the 600 block of McCray Street. Officers were dispatched around 4:50 p.m. to the area of South Street and Prospect Avenue for a shooting that had just occurred, according to a recent press release.

The 19-year-old male victim had been walking with his girlfriend on the west sidewalk of McCray Street. A vehicle approached northbound on McCray Street and someone in the vehicle shot at the couple three to five times, the press release said. The suspect vehicle is described as a grey or gold sedan, possibly a Honda or Toyota.

The male victim was struck in the torso and was transported by helicopter to a undisclosed Bay Area trauma center where he received treatment for a gunshot wound.

The Hollister Police Department processed the scene for possible evidence and contacted local businesses with possible surveillance footage. The police department is currently asking for anyone who might have been in the area during that time, witnessed the shooting or the vehicle speeding away to contact police with information they may have. Sometimes, information that someone might think is irrelevant might be the key to solving the case, the press release said.

There is a WeTip reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects in this case.

Anyone having information on this case is asked to call the Hollister Police Department at (831) 636-4330. Persons wishing to remain anonymous can call the WeTip Hotline at (800) 87-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may qualify for a reward.
