A comprehensive, interactive music/concert program that will benefit all non-profit organizations and focus on youth development programs. The intent of the program would be to complement the goals of the Community Foundation for San Benito County and enhance tourism and commerce at various venues within the county.
The program would establish a regular series of concerts with ‘headline acts’ of visiting professional musicians and artists with opportunities for local musicians and artists to perform as ‘opening acts’.
The program would complement existing, nascent and emerging cultural events such as: Hollister Motorcycle Rally, The SBC Olive Festival, Pinnacles National Park, SBC County Fair, SBC Saddle Horse Show & Rodeo, El Teatro Campesino Seasonal Entertainment Program, Community Theatre musicals/plays, Hollister Concerts Presented by Guerra Cellars, Mr O’s concerts, etc.
Proceeds from the events would be donated back to the Community Foundation for San Benito County for redistribution to all community non-profit organizations.
The program would provide opportunities to promote and advertise San Benito County as a regional weekend tourist destination and feature Historical landmarks, local businesses and industries: Mission at San Juan Bautista, San Juan Oaks/Ridgemark Golf Courses, Wineries, Restaurants, Casa De Fruta, Marich/DeBrito Confectioners, Hospitality/Motels/Inns, Veterans Hall/business and memorial programs, etc.
I intend to volunteer time toward this effort. A personal goal of mine will be to join Vision San Benito in 2014 in order to participate in promoting a better quality of life for San Benito County residents, improve the local economy and provide service back to the community.
