Public invited to weigh in on bus service recommendations

Service recommendations include expansion of service, having Caltrain bus serve San Juan Bautista

The San Benito County Local Transportation Authority (LTA) invites all agencies and interested parties to comment on bus service recommendations planned for County Express and Specialized Transportation Services (Jovenes de Antaño). Two open houses will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16: from 1-2:30 p.m. at San Juan Bautista City Hall, 311 Second St. and from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Hollister Community Center, 300 West. St.

  • Replace the Hollister Fixed Route service with FlexiBus.
  • Flexibus will include service area modifications and a $1 deviation surcharge.
  • Reconfigure Caltrain bus to serve San Juan Bautista.
  • Revise weekend service schedules to Gilroy.

In addition to the Transit Plan, the San Benito County LTA is working on a Bus Stop Improvement Plan that will assess the existing conditions of all County Express bus stops and to create a prioritized list of marked improvements to be made as funding becomes available. San Benito County LTA will be holding a public workshop on December 3, 2015, to gather input on the type of bus stop improvements the community would like to see.
