Next Thursday May 12, residents of San Benito County have a chance to hear from the candidates running for office in the June Primary Election.

A public forum for candidates and discussion of issues related to the election will take place Thursday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hollister City Council chambers, 375 Fifth St. The “Use Your Voice” forum, hosted by BenitoLink and the San Benito County Farm Bureau, will allow voters to take an active role in their county’s future and hear candidates’ answers to important questions.

We want your questions!

You are invited to take part in the elections process and send BenitoLink questions for your potential elected officials or questions related to Measure P, the proposed half-cent sales tax measure that would raise money for local transportation projects.

Send questions to Leslie David by email at leslie@benitolink.com.

A joint committee of Farm Bureau and BenitoLink representatives will review and select the questions for the candidates.

A reception for those who attended the forum will be hosted by BenitoLink and the San Benito County Farm Bureau immediately afterwards at The Vault, located at 452 San Benito St. in Hollister.

BenitoLink’s mission is to inform and engage the communities of San Benito County. This event is being organized for the benefit of all interested county residents.

Come and learn about the candidates for Congress, Assembly, District 1 Supervisor as well as learn more about Measure P and be prepared to vote in an informed way.
