The Parks Challenge is an idea used in many counties around the country to create incentives for family and friends to adventure with a purpose all summer long. Businesses are forming teams within their offices and departments for “team-building” and summer fun. Each "Challenge" completed by a team will accrue points that can be used for claiming prizes randomly announced through the summer months.
One of the Parks Challenges is joining Un Pequeño Paseo, a little walk exploring announced locations and times each month through October. Sometimes we just need a little encouragement to start up a walking routine, so Un Pequeño Paseo will target walks of about an hour in length, more or less. Some walks will be more structured, some loosie-goosie. All online-registered Adventure Parks Challengers can use these walks for prizes also! So register online, or just show up at the time and place announced each month on REACH San Benito Parks Foundation Facebook page, and our website, reachsanbenito.org. The July Paseo / Walk will be to St. Frances Retreat on Tuesday, July 31 at 5:15 p.m., meeting at the triangle of roads from Mission Vineyard Road at the Windhaven / St. Frances Retreat fork. Mr. Ed DeGroot, at the retreat, said we will be welcome to view the valley and walk the trails as we wish. What a lovely way to end a hard Tuesday’s work, with personal time!
