San Benito County closed several roads on Monday afternoon after rain that prompted multiple weather warnings from the National Weather Service.

As of noon Monday, there were several roads closed due to flooding:

  • Lovers Lane
  • Frazier Lake
  • San Felipe north of Shore
  • Southside Road low water crossing
  • Santa Ana Valley Road

Hollister Police Chief David Westrick also reported that there were some flooded areas of Fairview Road "that could be hazardous to motorists."

"There is probably many more that I am unaware of at this time," he posted on Facebook, noting that the City of Hollister put out 1,500 sandbags at the City Yard on South Street and about 500 sandbags at the Hollister Municipal Airport.

There is also a self-serve sandbag location at Lovers Lane and Shore Road.

"As far as the city of Hollister is concerned," Westrick said, "we are prepared for eventualities with additional resources at the ready if they are needed."
