Flying Colors Dance Camp

Looking for creative summer activities? There are many opportunities for kids to get involved in the visual and performing arts over the summer, where they can learn new skills in a structured, fun and creative environment. From dance and theater to music and cermics, there is something for everyone.

The San Benito County Arts Council is offering two sessions of their Summer Art Camp in July. The first session, "Two Dimensional Art" runs from July 6-10, with a morning class for 5- to 8-year-olds and an afternoon class for 10- to 16-year-olds. Students will learn to draw, paint and create mixed-media collages under the guidances of teaching artist, Stephanie Skow. The second session runs from July 20-24 with a special focus on "Three Dimensional Art," where students will create and glaze their own pinch pots, coile pots and teddy bear sculptures.

Space is limited, so call 636-2787 or email info@sanbenitoarts.org to register or for more information.

In the area of dance, summer dance camps are being offered at West Coast Dance FX, the San Benito Dance Academy and Flying Colors Dance Studio.  For theater and music enthusiasts, the annual Kids Rule Theater Camp will take place from June 22-26 for kids ages 6-13, and there is also a band and music camp for kindergarten through eighth-graders at Rancho San Justo middle school, led by Ms. Silveira.  Click on this link to see the full listing of offerings in San Benito County.
