Registration open for annual Mission 10 race

32nd annual event benefits scholarships and charities

The 2015 Rotary Mission 10, including 10-mile and 5K races and a 1-mile Kids' Fun Run is in its 32nd year. Taking place on Saturday, Jan. 24, it is sponsored by the Hollister Rotary Club and all proceeds go to benefit local scholarships and charities.

The two races both start and finish in front of the historic San Juan Mission. The area is rural and the course takes runners through farmland and up the Anzar hills. Medals are awarded three deep in standard age categories. Door prizes are also handed out. The 10-mile race is particularly good training for upcoming spring marathons.

  • Packet pickup starts at 8 a.m.
  • 10 mile run starts at 10 a.m. – $40
  • 5k starts 10:15 a.m. – $30

Fees include a long sleeve shirt and organizers say the race is good training for marathon base. Both races are timed and provide awards.
