“Mockingjay Part 1” is a phenomenal and creative movie. The movie is about a teenage girl, Katniss Everdeen, trying to rescue her partner, Peeta Mellark, from the government, the Capitol. As I was sitting in the theater I heard gasps, crying, and sobbing from all different directions from the crowd. Every time I thought I figured out how the lastest in the Hunger Games trilogy was going to end, another clue was revealed that started a whole other problem. I read the whole series of books, but still the movie showed much more detail than the books did. Also, it was obvious that movie was better than the one before.
Clarissa Corona, 13, described the movie as “agitating” because of how the movie ended. However, Corona’s cousin, Sandy Covarrubias, said that the movie was “spectacular.” Both Corona and Covarrubias said that they were glad that “Mocking Jay” is split into two movies because it otherwise would be too much information for one movie.
Corona said, “Haymitch is my favorite character because he is the person that helped Peeta and Katniss get through the Hunger Games and Quarter Quell.”
Covarrubias added, “All that Katniss cared about was keeping everyone safe. Although she did not save everybody every time someone was in danger, she put other people’s lives before hers. That is why she is my favorite character.”
