San Benito High School officials are inviting the public to the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Aug. 29 for the school’s new physical education facilities adjacent to Mattson Gym. The facilities will be open for the public to walk through following the ceremony.
Superintendent John Perales will offer opening remarks. Other scheduled speakers are Board of Trustees President Ray Rodriguez, SBHS Principal Adrian Ramirez, P.E. Department Chair Brian DeCarli, varsity football head coach Bryan Smith and varsity wrestling head coach Steven Salcedo.
Juli Vieira, president and CEO of the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Bureau will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting, as well.
The facility expansion, which was done on former outdoor basketball courts between Mattson Gym and the varsity baseball field, was funded through general fund money, not the Measure G school bond that voters approved.
