San Benito County Cattlewomen is pleased to congratulate Tracy Nino as their Cattlewoman of the Year.  Tracy has been an integral part of this organization for more than 20 years.  She was honored at a Bar BQ on May 31 at the home of Steve and Sonja Taylor.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Tracy moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains as a child.  She enjoyed the outdoors, especially her horses.

Traci attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, graduating with a degree in Graphic Design in1985.  She moved around for design jobs to as far away as Tahoe and Reno.   Eventually, she settled in Hollister in 1991.

Tracy and husband Mike have been married 32 years and have three children:  Katie, Sarah and Brenden.  Both Mike and Tracy grew up in Los Gatos and attended Cal Poly, but didn’t meet until their late 20’s.

After they were married, Mike and Tracy partnered with John and Susan Nino raising cattle in both Monterey and San Benito counties.  Eventually, they started their own building contracting company which they continue now.

While raising her children, the family participated in the San Benito County Horse Show and Rodeo, and 4H where Tracy started the Cienega chapter.  In addition, she was co-horse 4H leader with good friend Sonja Taylor.

Some of the many activities Tracy has chaired for San Benito Cattlewomen include the Fashion Show, Christmas party, summer bar b q, the drive-thru bar b q during covid, merchant appreciation luncheon, set up cattlewomen merchandise featuring local brands and helped Marti Hubbell design the Cattlewomen logo.

In her own words, Tracy says “I have always connected and felt a bond with all the San Benito County Cattlewomen.  I am proud to be a member and try to help as much as I can with whatever is happening.” Congratulations Tracy.
