The San Benito County Chamber of Commerce announced the hiring of a new CEO on Friday, June 29.

The Chamber Board of Directors announced the hiring of Candace Ledesma as the new CEO. Ledesma was born and raised in San Benito County and brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role, including experience in the tourism and wine industry.

“I am excited to be in this new role and I am ready to advocate for the needs of San Benito County business owners,” Ledesma said. “San Benito County is one of the most beautiful regions in California, so we must continue to do more to attract visitors to our county.”

Programs including Lunch & Learn and monthly mixers are expected to be revamped under Ledesma’s leadership. Seminars, Wreath across America, Chamber travel, the business advocacy committee, and Monday Brew & Perks events will continue as well.

“The Chamber Board of Directors is excited to bring on Candace as CEO,” said Victor Gomez, board chairman. “We look forward to her fresh perspective and advocacy for our businesses.”

The board of directors encourages all citizens and business owners to stop by the Chamber office in downtown Hollister and introduce yourself to Candace and share your thoughts on the future of our local economy.

Former Chamber CEO Juli Vieira stepped down at the end of May. Vieira, who worked for the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce since October 2014, started a new job in June as CEO of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce.
