An application submitted for a Low Power FM radio license by Community Access Partnership (CMAP) was approved by the Federal Communication Commission today.
The applicant now has 18 months to build a station and provide a minimum of 36 hours a week of local programming, with the possiblity of an 18 month extension.
The station will be built with funding from CMAP and run by San Benito County Community Radio, a soon to be formed, volunteer organization.
There will be an announcement later this week to gather those interested in participating in Community Radio as volunteer programmers, or staff.
Unfortunately, the call letters KSBC are not available, so suggestions from the community for what the stations call letters are welcome!
