National Library Week started in 1958 as a way to honor libraries’ and library staff’s contributions to their individual communities. The 21st Century has become a time to highlight the changing role of libraries, librarians and library workers. Libraries aren’t only a place of quiet study, but also creative and engaging community centers where people can collaborate using new technologies or take a coding class.
The public library embraces the entire community, offering unlimited opportunities for personal growth and lifelong learning while leveling the playing field for people of any age who are seeking the information and access to technologies that will improve their quality of life.
The San Benito County Free Library wishes to show our appreciation to our patrons and all of our volunteers for their contributions, which make San Benito County a center for learning, literacy and community building. Join us for an exciting week of activities.
All of the National Library Week programs are free and open to the public. For more information, be sure to speak with the friendly staff at the San Benito County Free Library, located at 470 Fifth St. in Hollister, visit the library’s website at http://sbcfl.org, or contact them at (831) 636-4107 or via email at library@cosb.us.
