For 38 years, the Friends of the San Benito County Free Library have advocated for and supported the library and our community. With the growing population of San Benito County, we are now reaching for an extension of services to meet demands.
As a nonprofit organization working to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs, the Friends of the San Benito County Free Library strive to spark increased usage and enhancement of library resources and services—with the goal of enriching the lives of our community.
“When you are looking for other mothers with little ones to help save your sanity, story time at the library is a good place to go,” writes Mary Schneider, Friends of the San Benito County Free Library publicity committee chair. “When you can’t afford the internet, much less a computer, the computer lab or the dedicated job search computers are important to you.”
Donations directly support the library and help to increase the collection of books, media, technology, and the purchasing of equipment. Funds also support programs like story time, homework club, summer reading and adult literacy.
