Kinship Center, a member of Seneca Family of Agencies, is dedicated to the creation, preservation and support of foster, adoptive and relative families for children who need them. The center’s guiding belief has been that every child deserves a safe, loving family. From newborns to older children, from medically fragile to larger sibling groups, Kinship Center has continued to work nonstop to ensure that more children find their “forever families.”

Kinship Center has most recently contracted with San Benito County to train and recruit foster families, provide support services for foster and adoptive families, including psychosocial assessments for the families. Coming soon will be full wrap-around services and mental health services for foster and adoptive families.

Kinship Center’s Gabilan Chapter is a volunteer auxiliary group based in San Benito County. Some Gabilan members have dedicated their time since the chapter’s beginnings in 1956. Its signature fundraiser is the annual September Wine & Food Tasting, first held in 1957 to showcase local wineries and restaurants. The sellout event, the oldest of its kind in California, has grown to include participation by large numbers of wineries and restaurants and guest attendance of up to 1,200.

The success of the annual Wine & Food Tasting comes from a caring community. Funds raised by the Gabilan Chapter support vital services to children and families in San Benito County.

San Benito GIVES is a 24-hour, team fundraising event providing an opportunity to support 23 nonprofit organizations in San Benito County, including Kinship Center.  The event is hosted by the Community Foundation in partnership with BenitoLink and Mission Village Voice.
