She walked through the door in tears needing diapers for her baby. A grandmother comes in to ask for formula for her teen son’s infant child. A 14-year-old sits in front of the nurse shocked to hear the positive STD result. A teen girl sits fearful and confused at hearing she is pregnant. A father is overwhelmed with the responsibility of being a single dad without resources to provide for his toddler children. A migrant mother of four shares her heartache after her husband is deported and she has no income or stroller for her children. These are just a few of the many lives touched through Hollister Pregnancy Center.
Hollister Pregnancy Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is a licensed medical clinic providing free of charge services to our community. In addition to the free of charge pregnancy testing, STD testing and first trimester ultrasound, the center provides much needed support through providing pregnancy outcome options education, abortion pill reversal resources, peer to peer support and referrals. For our parents with small children we provide emergency diapers, formula and clothing for children 0-2 years of age.
To meet the needs of our growing clientele, Hollister Pregnancy Center is currently converting the client “closet” into a Parenting Center. The center will provide parenting and prenatal education, one-on-one peer support and care groups. This project is a needed resource for single teen parents and low-income families in our community.
Hollister Pregnancy Center exists to provide health services and education to equip individuals to make informed, life-affirming choices regarding pregnancy and sexual health. Our dedicated staff and volunteers’ faithful commitment to serving each client is evident in the exit comments we receive. One client said, “the staff was welcoming and made me feel comfortable. The nurse answered all my questions and was very helpful.”
Through San Benito GIVES, there is a campaign page on Mighty Cause for the Hollister Pregnancy Center. Through the generous donations of our community, the goal of funding our parenting center will be made possible and Hollister Pregnancy Center will be able to continue to reach those in San Benito County who desperately our services.
