San Benito Stage Company Sidecar, in a departure from its normal fare, presents "The Subject is Love," an original musical revue dealing with the many facets of love—from longing to heartache, excitement to bitterness and everything in between.
The show is comprised of music ranging from standards such as “Send in the Clowns” and “The Man That Got Away” to modern musical theatre masterpieces sure to be standards themselves one day. Audiences will enjoy the wry wit and wisdom of songwriting masters like Cole Porter and the soaring melodies of Broadway composers like Jason Robert Brown.
The production is conceived and directed by Dennis Beasley with musical direction by Becky Miser. Beasley was the guest artist director for "Les Miserables," produced by San Benito Stage Company in 2014. SBSC was able to fit Beasley’s brainchild into its already busy schedule before he begins working on projects at The Western Stage, Davis Shakespeare Ensemble, and City Lights Theatre Company this summer.
"The Subject is Love" performs March 18, 19, 24, 25 at 8 p.m. and March 20 at 5 p.m. at The Vault 452 San Benito St. Pre-show, no-host cocktail hour begins 30 minutes before curtain and during the performances.
