San Benito Stage Company has been providing San Benito County with quality theater shows since 1999, offering everything from musicals, dramas and comedies to musical reviews. But in its long history there is one thing it has not done, and that is produce a fundraiser for the organization.
"We started talking about this idea to hold a fundraiser back in February, and it took off from there," stated SBSC board member Derek Barnes. What kind of fundraiser became the question to answer. This is how Casino Night took shape.
"We know organizations hold festivals, dinners, etc., but we wanted something that San Benito County has not seen in a while," stated SBSC board member Matt Romiti. So on Aug. 26, Casino Night will happen at the Granada Theatre from 6-10 p.m. The event promises to be one that participants will not forget.
"We have some fabulous prizes donated from local businesses like Guerra Cellars, De Rose, Fishers, and San Juan Oaks to name a few, including a tremendous grand prize that will have attendees excited," said Barnes. In addition, there will be an entertainment piece, a bar, and appetizers for guests to enjoy.
"We really hope the San Benito community will come and support this event, we are trying to raise funds for scholarships, equipment upgrades, and workshops," said Barnes.
Tickets for the event are $35 each and can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com, by calling Derek Barnes at 831-801-3102 or at the door on the night of the event.
