SBSC’s Moana Jr. sets sail May 2 – 17

Opening this weekend, island flowers and ocean waves set the scene for San Benito Stage Company’s Spring musical, Moana Jr.

“Despite Moana’s strong connection to the ocean, her parents Chief Tui and Sina, view it as dangerous and prevent her from venturing out beyond the reef. Gramma Tala decides to reveal the truth of their ancestors’ voyaging past to Moana. Moana resolves to fulfill  her destiny and save Motunui.” -Music Theatre International

Come enjoy this amazing show to see the rest of Moana’s exciting story unfold.

“Moana has been more than a theatrical experience for our young actors; it has been an educational one as well. Our actors had the opportunity to learn words from various Polynesian cultures, as well as learning proper dance techniques from a local dance company, Ha’a Hula / Te Reva O Te Manu.  “I know this amazing experience has helped our actors become more culturally aware.” said director Adrienne Summers.

The creative team includes Director Adrienne Summers, Vocal Director Jula Prak and Choreographer Cassandra Guerrero. The Moana Jr. production team would like to thank everyone who has been involved, for their contribution towards this great show.

Come see Moana Jr. May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17 at 7pm and May 10, 17 at 1pm at San Benito Stage Company’s new location 549 San Benito St. You can skip the line at the door and pick your favorite seats by purchasing your tickets online at sanbenitostage.org.
