Each year, in celebration of Clean Air Month (May), the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District sponsors a calendar art contest for school-age children in the counties of Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties. This year’s calendar theme was “Seasons of Air Quality in Your Community.” Â
Out of more than 800 entries submitted by first- through eighth-grade students in three counties, six of this year’s 13 contest winners are students at Hollister-area schools. Each contest winner will have their artwork included in the 2016 calendar and will be presented with a cash award of $100 at the District Board of Directors meeting on May 20, 2015.
The 2016 calendar contest winners from San Benito County are:
