Heralding the beginning of spring, the San Juan Bautista Art & Craft Festival was held on March 28-29. with food vendors and live music, people dancing, and wares from dozens of booths.
City Council Member Jose Aranda said he loves seeing all the arts and crafts, the people who come out, and the town when it is really alive.
“I love the collaboration, festival goers, and everyone purchasing food,” Aranda said. “I see everyone smiling, getting feedback, hearing what’s working and what’s not, and it makes a great city to be in. I love seeing all the traffic, and it was very exciting to see this.”
He said he was really happy that there were lots of arts and crafts, and he bought homemade soaps and candles, got two plants himself, and loved seeing everyone carrying a bunch of plants.
“I love walking around at the festival, with the weather being perfect,” Aranda said. “And seeing everyone eating, walking around, having fun and gathering at all the local watering holes in town.”

Hollister resident Matthew Torres said he wanted to check out the festival, see the vendors and locals, and see what’s going on.
“I love seeing local food options as well as the animals that are out here,” he said. “I got the rotisserie chicken from The Modern Chicken Co and Shave Ice, and I love hanging out with my friends Joe and Marciello.”
Kim Casillas, the owner of CW Farms in Hollister, said she was selling her focaccia bread and olives during the festival.
“I started selling Focaccia Bread and sell six different flavors,” Casillas said. “I started selling Rosemary Focaccia Bread, Paccia Bread, Jalapeno Cheese and have a blooming garlic.”
