San Benito County is pleased to provide an update on the San Juan Highway Repaving Project, which has now reached substantial completion following the successful completion of full-depth reclamation and paving operations.
The project, which began in April and was contracted to Granite Construction, focused on improving roadway conditions along San Juan Highway/Chittenden Road between State Route 129 jurisdiction and Anzar High School’s southern access gate. The improvements are part of the County’s broader roadway rehabilitation efforts to enhance safety and travel conditions on high-volume roadways throughout San Benito County.
All remaining work is scheduled to be completed prior to June 1st, weather permitting.
- During striping activities, one-way traffic control will be in place within the project area.
- Temporary shoulder closures will also be necessary during signage installation.Â
- Motorists are encouraged to use caution, reduce speeds, and follow all posted traffic control measures while crews are present.Â
San Benito County thanks residents, businesses, commuters, and the Anzar High School community for their patience and cooperation throughout construction activities. The County remains committed to completing the project as efficiently as possible while minimizing disruptions to residents and travelers.
