San Juan Bautista's City Attorney, George Thacher, asked for a continuance of the City's Public Hearing of the appeal of the resolution accepting the Planning Commission's approval of the Alameda Plaza Commercial project.
Mr. Thacher reported that the City had received a letter of 41 pages with attachments, which would have to be examined before he would be in a position to advise the City on the legal action the letter threatened concerning the City's approval of the proposed Alameda Plaza gas station/commercial center. The City Council accepted the City Attorney's recommendation and continued the agenda item to May 7 at 6:00pm.
There was a group of concerned residents who had come to express their feelings about the project, or to observe the process. Seating was made available outside the Council Chambers with a video link to what was occuring inside, in preparation for an expected larger than normal attendance at the City meeting.
This article will be updated later today, after this reporter has had a chance to view the letter which was received by the City.
