The San Juan Star and BenitoLink announced a partnership today that will bring together San Benito County’s two, independent news organizations.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the San Juan Star to bring residents in-depth coverage of San Juan Bautista, Aromas and western San Benito County, “ said Julie Morris, a member of the BenitoLink Advisory Committee. “The Star is a trusted and much-loved publications with a loyal following.”
Star Publisher Dan DeVries said the new alliance gives the Star an online presence for readers who may not be able to pick up a copy, as well as expanding its coverage of issues which are of county-wide importance.
“Although we direct mail the Star to every resident in western San Benito and drop off thousands of copies at designated locations throughout the county, the San Juan Star will now be available online, via BenitoLink,” DeVries said. “We’ve always prided ourselves on our commitment to covering western San Benito from the perspective of locals who live and work here, and now we’ll be able to cover an even larger audience.”
Under the agreement, BenitoLink will publish the San Juan Star online the week the print edition hits the streets. The Star will also run select stories from BenitoLink in a new “Countywide” section. The partnership will go into effect immediately, with the Star running countywide stories from BenitoLink in its next edition.
