Four students from Area 6 Rotary clubs represented their clubs at the Three Flames Restaurant in San Jose on March 1. Each student recited a speech that included this year's theme, "Making a Difference" and needed to include Rotary's 4 Way Test guiding principles.

This year Morgan Hill's Channing Buchman took home the First-place prize. Buchman will represent Area 6 Clubs at the regional level contest with a chance to compete at the District 5170 contest in April.

Second place is Stevi Rae Page from San Benito High School in Hollister.

Emiliano Esparza, from San Juan Bautista and Sadagopan Palaniappan, from Gilroy Sunrise tied for third place.

Each of the students did an incredible job and should be very proud. We are especially proud of Hollister's own student winner Stevi Rae Page, who has consistently competed in the Speech Contest over the last few years and didn't give up until she won. Her determination, leadership and poise are going to take her to great places.

First Place Winner- Channing Buchman, Morgan Hill
Second Place Winner- Stevi Rae Page, Hollister
Third Place Winners (tied)- Emiliano Esparza, San Juan Bautista and Sadagopan Palaniappan, Gilroy Sunrise
