Scholarships will be awarded to Latino students who possess an economic need and are available to high school seniors with plans to continue their post-secondary education by attending a four-year college or university, community college, or certified vocational training institution. College students who are already enrolled are also eligible for this scholarship program.

Students should download the appropriate application (see links below) and return the completed form to the Community Foundation office by Thursday, March 15. The selection process for this award is rigorous and highly competitive. A review panel made up from members of the Latino Generations Endowment Committee will select the strongest applicants to move towards the next round of the selection process.

The Latino Generations Scholarship Program began in 2016 with a single gift from Fr. Larry Betrozoff, $10,000 which was awarded to eight Latinas who graduated from San Benito High School. These young, courageous, and intellectual women were willing to overcome challenges and obstacles toward their pursuit of a college degree, but they didn’t have the necessary funds to achieve their dream.

While at school, Adrianna Gutierrez wrote, “A scholarship has been a blessing for making continued education at a university more affordable.” Sheyla Pastrana followed with a letter saying “Being away at college, there are so many resources and opportunities to branch out socially and academically compared to our small little town of Hollister, and I am extremely grateful.”

By supporting the leaders of tomorrow through scholarships from the Latino Generations Endowment Fund, our future is empowered, making a difference one student at a time. The Latino Generations Endowment Committee invites you to become involved by making a contribution of support directly to the Latino Generations Scholarship Fund
