Scouting America invites families to a fun-filled Field Day event designed to introduce youth and parents to the excitement, values, and opportunities of Scouting. Open to boys and girls from Kindergarten through 18 years old, this free event will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Cerra Vista School Park (enter on Avenida Cesar Chavez).

At Field Day, new families will learn about the many activities available through the Scouting program, including camping, hiking, aquatics, backpacking, climbing, and engaging STEM opportunities. Scouting builds real-world skills like teamwork, confidence, resilience, and a commitment to community service —all within a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

While youth enjoy fun outdoor games like kickball, soccer, and King’s Castle, parents will have the chance to meet Scouting representatives from all local units, who will be available to answer questions and help families understand how to get involved.

“Scouting is more than just outdoor fun — it’s about building confidence, making friends, and growing into capable, compassionate leaders,” said Kristy Burchard, Chair of San Benito County Scouting. “This Field Day is the perfect way for families to explore what Scouting can offer.”
