Services Saturday for community servant

Colleen Johnson was involved with a number of local nonprofits

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 3 for Colleen Johnson, who on Dec. 31 lost her five-year battle with stage 4 colon cancer. She was 50 years old. The service will be held at noon at Markham Ranch, 154 Corral De Tierra Road in Salinas.

Colleen was a massage therapist and nutritional counselor who enjoyed her work as elected treasuer of San Juan Bautista and participating in a number of community nonprofit organizations devoted to serving San Benito County, including BenitoLink. She is survived by her mother, Marge Miles; her father, Terry McHenry; her children Zachary and Emily Johnson; her partner, Mike Pulido; sisters Cheryl Barrett and Aileen Prather; brother Keith; her former husband, Richard Johnson; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Colleen's memory to the Community Foundation of San Benito County or the Emmaus House in Hollister
