The Hollister Seventh-day Adventist Church will host its third annual free health clinic on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 2121 Sunnyslope Road. The one-day clinic will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Free services to be offered include dental care (cleaning, filing, extractions), medical screening (glucose check, blood pressure and pulse, and lifestyle coaching), and eye care (comprehensive exams, fitting for glasses).
Roy Zarate, church elder and event co-organizer, said the church partners with Life Hope Centers to put on the clinic. Life Hope Centers works to allows volunteer dentists, optometrists, physicians and other health-related professionals and community volunteers to provide services at no charge to approximately 50-250 people at each event.
Zarate said that through the LHC program, efforts are also made to educate the public about the simple and practical ways individuals can live healthier, happier, and longer.
“We do try and provide one clinic per year and goal is to grow that number,” he said.
