California's State Librarian, Greg Lucas, was in the area for a meeting in Monterey last week and decided to drop by the San Benito County Free Library for a visit. Lucas received a tour of the library's facilities, including the new literacy office, which hosts the library's Adult Literacy Program. Library staff and County Librarian, Nora Conte, also discussed the many services the library provides to San Benito County with Lucas, including one-on-one technology tutoring, bilingual story times and early literacy programs, specialized teen programming, and passport processing services, just to name a few.

Mr. Lucas also took the time to ask Ms. Conte and library staff about the library's needs and how the California State Library can help with those needs, including future space and facility needs. Conte and the library staff thoroughly enjoyed Lucas' visit and appreciated the time he took to visit the San Benito County Free Library.
