Eight members of the Hollister FFA (Future Farmers of America) received the State FFA Degree this year, which is only awarded to the state association’s top members, and is the second highest degree a student can earn while in the organization. Five students also received proficiency awards.

These members qualified for the degree by spending a minimum of 500 hours on their supervised agricultural experience project(s), earning a minimum of $1,000 profit on their project(s) and participating in school, FFA, and community service events as well as FFA leadership contests.

The San Benito High School students attended an award ceremony in their honor at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in March.

​SBHS Principal Adrian Ramirez was named a Star Section Administrator and teacher Joseph Martin was named a Star Section Advisor.
