On May 1, 2026, the Superior Court of San Benito will join the nation in recognizing Law Day, an annual commemoration held to celebrate the rule of law and cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal system.

The 2026 Law Day theme: “The Rule of Law and the American Dream” represents the fundamental idea that no person is above the law. It is this principle that ensures the rights of the people to live their lives as freely as possible and to pursue their dreams.

To mark this occasion, the Superior Court of San Benito hosted an essay contest open to high school and Gavilan College students. Contest winners will be announced during the celebration at the courthouse on Friday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m. All students, families, and community members are invited to attend the ceremony and join in the celebration.
