On December 18, 2013, Hollister Police Officers arrested three men at a local motel after they were found in possession of narcotics, with a loaded handgun and under the influence of a controlled substance.

 

Just after midnight on December 18, 2013, Officer Bill Hutchison was on routine patrol when he drove into the parking lot of the Hollister Inn Motel at 152 San Felipe Road. Officer Hutchison was conducting a security check when he noticed a man next to a vehicle and immediately recognized him as Marc Solorio (40). Officer Hutchison was aware Solorio had a warrant for his arrest and attempted to contact him. Solorio noticed Officer Hutchison and attempted to escape by running into one of the rooms at the hotel.

 

Other officers arrived to assist and made contact with Solorio and two other individuals in the room. The police investigation revealed narcotics in the room as well as a loaded handgun and a large amount of money.

Police arrested all three men and transported them to the San Benito County Jail. Solorio was booked for; felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed and the prior warrant for possession of a controlled substance for sale. Zavan Quezada (32) was booked for possession of a controlled substance and Stephen Michael Simmons (18) was booked for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
