CalFire announced Friday evening  that the Cienega Fire southwest of Hollister was 100 percent contained, five days after the blaze began in rough, hilly terrain.
Nearly 700 acres were scorched in the blaze, but no structures were reported lost. Three injuries were reported during the battle against the blaze.
Crews from around the state, including San Benito County, attacked the blaze from the ground and the air, with nearly 300 firefighters on-scene during the height of the blaze. As of 6 p.m. Friday, CalFire reported that a total of 108 fire personnel on 4Â fire engines, two fire crews, three bulldozers and four water tenders remained at the scene, which began near Cienega and Limekiln roads.
