Horse show and rodeo enthusiasts can enjoy varied events happening this weekend at Bolado Park Event Center as the 33rd District Agricultural Association prepares to kick off the 92nd running of the San Benito County Fair.

Dubbed “Horse Show Weekend,” all of the action happens in the LA Hearne Grandstand Arena beginning Friday, Sept. 25 with the cutting event and the Christopher Ranch-sponsored stock horse event at 6 p.m.

The fun continues through the weekend with youth participating in both the Junior Rodeo and Pee Wee Rodeo on Saturday morning at 8 am.  Jackpot roping takes place Saturday evening at 5 p.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 27, events start at 9 a.m. with the popular Ranch Rodeo and Dummy Steer Roping events sponsored My Chevrolet.  The Open Horse Show gets underway at 10 a.m. to make for a busy day in the arenas.

The evening of Monday, Sept. 28 again welcomes youth, this time for the 4-H and FFA Light Horse Show at 5 p.m. as the fair offers its final horse event. San Benito County Fair Horse Show events invite the public to attend with no admission cost.  Food and beverage vendors will be available in the nearby Fair Food Court.

For more information on attending, or registering for those events still open to entries, contact the fair office at 831-628-3421 or go online to www.sanbenitocountyfair.com.

The official opening day of the San Benito County Fair is Thursday, Oct. 1, when the fair welcomes country  entertainer Dallas Smith for a free concert on the Holaday Seed Main Stage.
