Dear Community Members:

Each year Community Services & Workforce Development (CSWD) sponsors a holiday party for the families we house in our Family Winter Shelter. Various agencies & organizations, individuals & families adopt a family or child to sponsor. We just received notice that our major sponsor is unable to sponsor our families this year.

 

Many of them have been homeless for quite a while, some were living in their vehicles, some with friends or relatives (couch surfing), and some in tents. We are seeking support of our generous community to help provide a memorable holiday for these families. If you are able to do so, can you please help by:

 

  1. Sponsoring a child or family
  2. Providing a meal (either via cash donations where we purchase the food or if you are able to provide catering) The meal doesn’t have to be fancy, it is just nice to have something to offer them during the Holidays.

Fishes & Loaves provides a bag of food for each family to prepare a Christmas meal & also gift cards for Safeway. Santa also visits to pass out gifts & this year we also have a professional photographer.

 

I’ve attached a list of the children with their ages, shirt, pant & shoe size as well as their wish list. If you are able to sponsor a child or a family please contact me so I can sign you up.
This will be our 21st Annual Celebration, held on December 19, 2012. We are hoping to have donations to us by Monday, December 17, 2012.
