The Veterans Appreciation Ceremony/Parade was held on Nov. 11. More then 14 people received VFW Post banners and about 65 organizations participated in the parade. It was the first fall rainy day, but that didn’t stop the parade or the spectators in downtown Hollister from enjoying each other and honoring local veterans.

Krista Hanson was awarded a quilt at the Veterans Appreciation event. She was an Aviation Mechanist Mate and is now a local realtor.
Irma Gonzalez presents the 2024 Veteran of the Year award to David Lopez. David’s cousin Raymond Lopez also received the award.


Donnie Guttirez holds a VFW Post 9242 banner, which will be put on display in downtown Hollister, for his service in the United States Marine Corps.
Nicholas Caday holds a VFW Post banner that honors his service in the United Sates Army.


A striking float, made locally several years ago passed as spectators looked on. The design was from a picture in an article and it recognizes the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.
