The Hollister City Council voted to sign a contract with the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and the American Legion to manage the Veteran's Memorial Building. In the contract, the Veteran's will receive $80,000 a year and the city will be responsible for repairs over $5,000, as "landlords' of the building.

The Veteran's will continue the current fee schedule for rental and groups which have had free use, including several veteran's groups and the University of California Extension program will continue that privilege. The City will inspect the building quarterly. This is a "cost neutral" proposition for the City.

Councl Member Ray Friend noted that there is some major maintenence issues that the Veteran's will need to accomplish.
