Assemblyman Luis A. Alejo (D-Salinas) will recognize Hollister resident Vincent Garcia Luna, as well as Alan Hicks, Janet Librers Leach and Maria Belen Perea as the 2015 California Peace Award Recipients of the 30th District on Aug. 4 during National Night Out, the national crime prevention effort that brings law enforcement and residents together.
“It is my honor to recognize these truly remarkable individuals, who have made it their mission to promote peace throughout all of our communities,” Alejo said in a press release. “The commitment and dedication these individuals have for their communities exemplify what this award is all about. It’s everyday heroes like them who help keep our neighborhoods safe.”

He has nurtured, guided, comforted and supported countless students and motivates each one to further their education. In addition, he also emphasizes the importance of community service in order to maintain a peaceful environment. Mr. Garcia Luna’s recognition ceremony will take place at Downtown Hollister, San Benito Street at 6:45 p.m.”
Garcia Luna is the husband of Hollister City Councilwoman Mickie Solorio Luna.
The other Peace Award recipients are:
Watsonville resident Alan Hicks, the chairman of the Watsonville Peace & Unity Coalition.
