The Pet Friends pet adoption center and shelter in Hollister will hold its 9th annual Wag N’ Walk fundraiser on Saturday, June 10 from 7:15 a.m. to noon at the Graniterock Southside Sand & Gravel Plant 5632 Airline Hwy.
Participants are encouraged to bring their four-legged friends to participate in the 5K on leash. They can walk or run as an individual or a team of up to four family, friends and/or co-workers. The event is designed to raise awareness about pet adoption and animal rescue.
Participants will run or walk through the Graniterock operational sand and gravel quarry. The course follows quarry roads, out and back for 5K, and is best described as “off-road” (hard-packed gravel). Additionally, a short course for walkers is available. Animals must be on a leash at all times. No retractable leashes are allowed and leashes must be no longer than 6 feet. Proof of rabies vaccination required.
After the run/walk, Graniterock will hold an open house event at the quarry where there will be barbecue, chips and drinks. and enjoy BBQ, chips, and drinks.
Cost is a donation of a minimum of $20 for individuals and $50 or more for a team of four sign-ups. To register click this link. Adoptable pets will be present at the event.
