The annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes — The International Men's March event was held in downtown Hollister on Saturday. Designed to raise awareness about and to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence, the walk encouraged participants to walk a mile in high heels. 

Men, including local leaders and elected officials, were provided high-heeled shoes,. Women were encouraged to participate in a show of solidarity.

Proceeds from the event benefit Community Solutions' "Solutions to Violence" programs and Emmaus House, a Hollister-based domestic violence shelter for women and children.
