A water main broke Nov. 19 on San Benito Street between Seventh Street and South Street. The road will remain closed until repairs are complete for safety.
HPD has that portion of the road blocked off while city crews work to repair the break; the city of Hollister is advising people to avoid the area.
Some downtown businesses closed early, such as Country Rose Cafe and Ohana Shave Ice, due to the water issues and street closures. Mars Hill, Heavenly Bakery and Farmhouse Cafe did not appear to experience any water issues.
The road was still closed as of 3 p.m.
