The Women’s Club of Hollister had their very first fashion show Saturday, Feb. 10. The theme was "Beauty is a Strong Woman".

The event was held at Ridgemark Golf and Country Club and was well attended. We had eight models showing fashions from three San Benito county stores, Bella Charm, Irma’s Fashions and Mrs. B’s Z Place. Our lovely models were Barbara Cosio, Irene Hurtado, Kim Kimber, Beryl Kurgan, Jackie McAbee, Robyn Rodriguez, Ann Ross and Bonnie Wilkinson. Model support was June Hockenberry.

A delightful buffet brunch was served. We had a 50/50 Drawing and a terrific assortment of themed gift baskets put together by Ellen Fisher and Kim Kimber.

Maureen Serafini and Martha Blaser were the Chairs.

Our presenters were Jill Martin and Jeanne Liem. Program and table decorations by Cindy Gillen.

Photography for the event was by Michelle Damm. These are some of the great pictures she took during the luncheon.

Feedback from people attending has been quite positive and because of that, we are considering doing this on an annual basis.

This was a fundraiser for the various projects in our club. All money stays in this community and will help us support Emmaus House, Chamberlain’s Children Center, CASA, Community Food Bank, House of Sueños, Girls Inc. and Small Steps.

Our Club projects involve Laundry 2 Literacy, which places bookcases filled with books that the children can read and then take home. Our Scholarship Program awards high school senior girls from San Benito County with money towards a College.

We also have a Comfort Care Backpack Project which provides a backpack full of essentials, as well as, comfort items for displaced youth.

Our biggest fundraiser is the Flamingo Fundraiser. This fun project is terrific and one of our biggest money makers.

The Women’s Club of Hollister is an amazing group of caring women that immerse themselves in work throughout the community. We welcome new members. You may find more information on our website www.women’sclubofhollister.com, come, join our flock.
