Featuring a wide range of activities for youngsters, Healthy Kids Day was held on April. 18 at the YMCA on Tres Pinos Road in Hollister.

Interim Healthy Living Director Sierra Diaz-Moreno said the YMCA had its afterschool program sites set up booths offering activities for children to participate in.

They invited several community partners, including the San Benito County Resource Management Agency, San Benito County Public Health, the Tobacco Education Program, CalFresh, and GoKids, all of whom supported families.

Other participants included the San Benito County Cattlewomen, Hollister High School Robotics, Monterey County Boxing Strong, and the Hollister School District Nutrition Department, which handed out snacks for the kids.

“We also have our health and wellness team tabling for our programs,” Diaz-Moreno said, including Fit Kids and YMCA ballet. “We like to promote interactive ways that encourage healthy development for kids and physical activity.”

Hollister resident Dylan Lucas said he loved playing the ball toss and ring toss.
