We are excited to announce we have reached our goal and just completed our best Spring/Summer Fundraiser yet, bringing in $44,000!
Donations of all sizes from community members added up to an amazing $34,000. That was combined with $10,000 in matching funds offered by Alan and Bonnie Clark to reach the $44,000 total.
The focus of this fundraiser was to bring on a reporter who would be dedicated to the county government beat. In early spring 2026, our California Local Journalism Fellowship came to an end, reducing our county coverage. Your strong support means we have enough funds to bring in a freelance reporter now and get to work on hiring an additional reporter late in the fall.
A big THANK YOU to all of our donors who backed the beat in BenitoLink’s Spring/Summer Fundraiser, ensuring we have a reporter in the Board of Supervisors chambers with note pad in hand. Your donation means that residents countywide will continue to enjoy BenitoLink’s free local news and information and hear about the issues before all the decisions have been made.
