There is a small but adventurous group of businesses and organizations that has supported BenitoLink from Day One. They were on the BenitoLink website couple of years ago, when we barely had 500 unique visitors per month (and got really excited about it).
This group believed that our community needed a dependable source for news. They didn’t do it so much to get their name out because we were brand-new and no one was on BenitoLink yet. They did it to support the project and help our residents become better informed.
Some did it because they believe our community is healthier with local media covering our elected officials. They knew we need to keep up with and actually get ahead of governmental decisions. Others just wanted community members to know what events are happening or to be able to follow major interests like transportation, education and growth.
So they put some money up and in recognition, we posted their graphic or logo. Their commitment said to us, “Let’s make something good together that the community will come to appreciate.” They had no tangible evidence that the BenitoLink experiment would work and yet they became sponsors and we added their graphic to the website.
The following businesses/organizations are still with us today. That’s why this group deserves our special recognition and admiration for having the guts to believe in BenitoLink’s mission to be inclusive and to help inform and engage our community.

Behind these names are a few individuals who made a commitment. The BenitoLink staff appreciates these individuals for their early support and courage. We admire them for taking a risk and having a hunch before others that a community-based news and information website was a great idea.
We are now a nonprofit just finishing its first quarter. Without donors and sponsors, the website would not be able to function or grow. Whether you are donating May 3 on Silicon Valley Gives or paying for a full sponsorship, it requires a conscious decision to open a checkbook or sign in online. As our list of sponsors and donors grows, we recognize our founding sponsors as true leaders and community builders. Thank you to all of you.
