Vista Park Hill resident and advocate Robin Pollard asked the Hollister City Council on May 4 why a new sign at the downtown park has its named mixed up: it calls the park Vista Hill Park, transposing the last two words from the correct name.
Acknowledging the council couldn't respond to her during the meeting because she was speaking during the public comment portion, Pollard noted that the sign is "incorrect and I'm wondering if this is a permanent change or did you go off Google Maps or was it an oversight?"
"I know you can't answer me" during the meeting, as the council can only address agendized items, "but I'd really like to know."
Pollard raised the concern about the signage in a recent article published on BenitoLink.
During his report to the city council at Monday's meeting, City Manager William Avera said city "staff is looking into the situation" with the Park Hill signage situation and "as soon as we get something back, we'll let you know what the outcome of that research was."
